Thought Leadership: Musings from the van

I have been fortunate over the years to be part of some amazing events, trips, forums, gatherings etc, all in the nature of provoking thought leadership and innovation. Over countless 'post it notes', coloured pens, flip charts, lukewarm coffee pots and a lifetimes allocation of sugar coated, calorie packed snacks, conversations have been facilitated in the direction of BIG change.

However for anyone that knows me, it is the space on a muddy trail, climbing a mountain or on a blustery beach where I nurture my most impactful ideas, inspired around me by the reasons I choose to lead a purpose focused role. Being independent, yet intrinsically connected to industry, I can indulge in what works for me, whilst keeping a finger on the bigger picture. I am driven by change and happy to embrace the simplest path to creating it and for me this year it has been about finding a way to work in nature.... in order better understand how to protect it best.

The Van with no name

Let me introduce myself, I'm Sophie, Innovation Enabler at biov8tion. A self confessed textile geek, entrepreneur, innovator and business founder, driven to create change through purpose led innovation. My side kick here is the van with no name; she is simple, work in progress yet stealth, and can always be parked in the most inspiring of locations welcoming me back warmly with a pot of steaming tea and a farm shop flapjack when energy flags.

Our musings

Together* we are going to explore:

  • Explore - our environment to remind us constantly WHY we have to create change quickly, in order that we don't mess up further, the fragile world in which we live.

  • Explore - how ideas are nurtured best in the spaces that need the results the most.

  • Explore - what problems need our attention, as without a deep rooted problem, there is no innovation.

  • Explore - where you can really get the best flap jacks!

Within this blog we will sharing our musings, throwing out thought starters, encouraging your feedback, inviting collaboration, and generally dipping a toe into a puddle or two to test the water on emerging ideas.
